Parents classes

AHA friends and family CPR
This course is designed for non-healthcare providers/lay rescuers (expecting parents, family members, babysitters, or anyone who wants to learn CPR but doesn’t need it for a job). This course teaches lay rescuers how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and the choking adult, child, and infant victim. It also provides demonstration and practice of an AED for an adult and child cardiac arrest victim. Course cards are in the back of the student book.
New parent support group
We are currently offering a group to provide an extra layer of support during the first few months of parenthood. The group is peer-led and facilitated by registered nurses.
Participants can:
- Share challenges, issues and joys in a judgment-free environment
- Meet other parents with similar experiences
- Foster potential relationships that will last beyond this group
NICU peer support group: Beyond the Beeps - Athens
Beyond the Beeps is a virtual parent and caregiver support group. This group allows parents to meet and discuss challenges of having a baby in the NICU or a baby at home that is medically fragile. This group is led by parent mentors and mental health advocates through Athens Parent Wellbeing. There is no cost to attend.
