The Woman’s Auxiliary at Piedmont Atlanta

On June 10, 1957, The Woman’s Auxiliary became officially active as one of the first hospital Auxiliaries in Georgia due to the commitment and vision of Mrs. Strother Fleming (Anne) along with more than 200 interested women. That same year, on October 1st, a gift shop, operated entirely by volunteers, opened for the convenience of patients, visitors and employees. As time passed, with expansion and growth, the first paid manager of the Gift Shop was hired in 1989. The proceeds from the Gift Shop, The Celebration of Love, and Stronger Together directly benefit Piedmont Atlanta, but perhaps the greatest gift is not a visible or measurable one, but the gift of time and efforts given in service. As we reflect on our growth since 1957, we remain committed to supporting the hospital, patients and staff and excited about what the future holds.

Gift Shop Volunteer Opportunities

The Piedmont Atlanta Gift Shop needs volunteers! We are owned and operated by The Woman’s Auxiliary of Piedmont Atlanta. Our hours are Monday and Friday from 10am-5pm, and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10am-5pm and 5:30pm-8:30pm. The volunteer shifts are as follows: (2 volunteers) 10am-2pm and (2 volunteers) 2pm-5pm. Masks are now optional for volunteers.

Please consider volunteering a short amount of your time to benefit Piedmont Atlanta. We are a fabulous place to work and have a lot of fun! Just follow your nose to find us. We bake fresh baked chocolate chip cookies daily!
