Care Partner Policy (Updated April 27, 2023)
Effective February 23, 2023, Piedmont Athens Regional is following the Centers for Disease Control Community Transmission Levels and adjusting their masking guidelines for staff members and visitors accordingly. During times when the community transmission rate is lower than high, visitors will be encouraged to wear a mask outside of a patient’s room, but it will not be required.
- COVID positive patients, and patients in double occupancy rooms, will still only be allowed one care partner visit per day.
- Care partners under the age of 12 are not allowed.
- One care partner may stay overnight for inpatients, excluding COVID patients and patients in double-occupancy rooms. Children are not allowed to stay with a patient overnight.
- Labor and Delivery, Family Care Center, and the NICU are limiting visitation to parents and guardians at this time.
Piedmont encourages the use of electronic devices to communicate with patients who are hospitalized.
