Travel Consultations

Prior to departure, we discuss how to handle issues you may face, including motion sickness, altitude sickness, malaria, or traveler’s diarrhea, as well as general travel safety or traveling with children. We will review your routine vaccinations and any others that may be required for your trip, along with any other medications or treatments you may need.

Pre-Trip Vaccinations

To ensure your health while traveling, we offer several vaccines as part of your consultation. Maintenance vaccinations can be available. Here's a list of the vaccinations we offer:

How far in advance should I schedule my travel medicine appointment?

We recommend that you schedule your appointment as soon as possible to avoid any delays you may have if your travel requires you to have a vaccination. Many travel vaccines require two weeks to be protective.

How much does the travel medicine appointment and/or vaccines cost?

The travel medicine appointment costs $100 and is not covered by insurance. Some vaccines, such as those recommended for general health, may be billed to insurance. Travel vaccines and consultation fees are self-pay.

Where do I find information on what I need to travel for certain destinations?

The CDC’s Traveler’s Health webpage is a useful resource that provides information on travel information by destination.

Are all the vaccines available at all your locations?

Less-common vaccinations such as rabies or Japanese encephalitis may need to be special ordered by our staff for administration at a nearby pharmacy or health department. Our team will ensure that you have the information needed to be able to receive these.
