About the Conference

Dynamic conference with topics selected to address issues and challenges of managing trauma patients from initial assessment through transfer to definitive care. This course was developed for APPs working in the ED. The educational audience for the conference are PAs and Nurse Practitioners.

Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of the course, the learner will be able to:

  • Assess the patient’s condition rapidly and accurately
  • Resuscitate and stabilize the patient according to priority
  • Determine if the patient’s needs exceed a facility’s capacity
  • Arrange appropriately for the patient’s inter-hospital transfer (who, what, when, and how)
  • Assure that optimum care is provided and that the level of care does not deteriorate at any point during the evaluation, resuscitation, or transfer process

In support of improving patient care, Piedmont Healthcare is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team and learners will receive 16 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credits for learning and change.
