Piedmont Athens Regional is one of northeast Georgia’s largest not-for-profit hospitals. The 427-bed, acute care hospital joined the Piedmont family in 2016 and features a regional Level II trauma center and Level III neonatal ICU. Founded by physicians in 1919, the hospital has garnered national acclaim for patient experience, comprehensive cardiac care including open heart and thoracic surgery, orthopedics, neurosciences, minimally invasive surgeries, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, oncology and gastroenterology. Today, Piedmont Athens Regional is committed to providing accessible healthcare by making seamless connections between patients and providers. To support our commitment, in 2022, Piedmont Athens opened a $194 million patient tower with state-of-the-art technology to deliver convenient care to patients from across the region.
Piedmont Athens Regional is proud to be the official healthcare provider for the University of Georgia Athletic Association. The hospital also serves as an educational training site for hundreds of medical students from the Augusta University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership.
Piedmont Atlanta, the flagship hospital of Piedmont Healthcare, has served Atlanta for more than a century. What started in 1905 as a 10-bed sanatorium has grown into a 643-bed facility renowned for its high quality, patient-centered health care. Piedmont Hospital is an acute-care community hospital offering all major medical, surgical and diagnostic services, including 24-hour emergency services, transplantation and comprehensive care. As a not-for-profit organization, hospital earnings maintain and enhance services and facilities and support education, outreach, and research activities. This allows Piedmont Hospital to offer the most advanced, specialized care possible.
Piedmont Augusta, founded in 1818, is the oldest and largest hospital in our region and the second oldest in Georgia. This 812-bed, not-for-profit community hospital provides acute-care services and encompasses two campuses and serves 25 counties across two states.
The hospital joined the Piedmont family on March 1, 2022, and leads the region in safety, quality and price transparency. In addition to improving the health of those we serve, Piedmont Augusta gives back to our community in other ways, including contributing more than $1 billion annually to our community and providing more than $41 million in indigent and charity care.
Piedmont Augusta continues to train tomorrow’s caregivers, spending nearly $20 million in 2021 for our School of Radiography, School of Cardiovascular Technology and interns and residents.

Piedmont Augusta at Summerville Campus, formerly University Hospital, was founded in 1952 and joined the Piedmont family on March 1, 2022. The hospital is known for its comprehensive diagnostic services, including cardiac catheterization, magnetic resonance imaging, and osteoporosis treatment.
It offers a 24-hour, 15-bed Emergency Department, a 12-bed inpatient unit and new and enhanced imaging services. Outpatient services include Wound & Hyperbaric Services, Diabetes Services, Full-service Lab, Sleep Lab, Coumadin Clinic, Primary Care and Piedmont Heart. It offers these services in the Summerville Medical Building and in the newly renovated Occupational Medicine suite.
Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center is a 139-bed not-for-profit, acute care hospital, Level III Trauma Center, Certified Primary Stroke Center, National Cardiovascular Data Registry participant, Level 2 NICU and Special Care Nursery facility accredited by DNV. The Breast Imaging Center provides mammography services that are gold seal accredited by the American College of Radiology. The Advanced Wound Healing Center provides specialized treatment for chronic or non-healing wounds. The Hope Center, a regional cancer treatment facility, is conveniently located on the hospital campus and provides over 3,000 radiation oncology treatments with over 200 new patients per year from a 10-county region.
Piedmont Columbus Regional consists of two primary hospitals, a children’s hospital, a cancer center and nearly 40 physician practice locations.
Piedmont Columbus Regional’s Midtown Campus is the flagship hospital of Piedmont Columbus Regional, and the largest in west Georgia and east Alabama. Midtown Campus is a licensed 583-bed acute care hospital providing a comprehensive array of healthcare services to meet the medical needs of the diverse region we serve. It is designated as a regional Level II trauma center and one of six perinatal centers in the state with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Midtown delivers complex surgical trauma services including orthopedics, neurosurgery, general surgery, vascular and thoracic plus inpatient and outpatient advanced surgical services, including robotic-assisted surgery, general surgery, neurosurgery, vascular and thoracic surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, ENT, ophthalmology and endoscopy.
The Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital at Piedmont Columbus Midtown is the area’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, and only children’s hospital within Piedmont. A dedicated, pediatric-trained care team paired with a child-friendly, therapeutic environment allows parents to take comfort in knowing their child is receiving quality care.

Northside delivers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient advanced surgical care, including orthopedics, spine, general surgery, and urology, along with bariatric, gynecologic, plastic and reconstructive, and robotic-assisted procedures supported by a da Vinci robotic system. The campus operates a 20-bed Emergency Department.
Piedmont Eastside Medical Center has been a trusted health care leader for over 45 years, serving Gwinnett and surrounding counties. With 305 beds across our Main and South Campuses in Snellville, we deliver comprehensive care — from advanced cardiovascular and surgical services to maternity, orthopedics, and 24/7 emergency care at two convenient locations. This 25-bed not-for-profit medical center serves McDuffie, Glascock, Jefferson, Lincoln, Warren, Wilkes, Taliaferro and western Columbia counties. The hospital joined the Piedmont family on March 1, 2022, and is dedicated to improving the health of those within the community it serves regardless of a patient’s ability to pay.
Piedmont McDuffie is committed to providing care close to home. This includes the creation of a special “Swing Bed” unit for patients who no longer need acute care but still require rehabilitation services before returning home. Piedmont McDuffie in 2021 provided 1,652 patient days of Swing Bed care to our patients. This extended care at Piedmont McDuffie offers peace of mind for patients who do not want to travel to a rehabilitation or skilled nursing center far away from their homes.
Piedmont Mountainside is a not-for-profit, acute-care community hospital located in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains. Hospital staff are dedicated to delivering unsurpassed medical care to the residents of Pickens, Gilmer and North Cherokee counties and surrounding communities. We are the sole hospital provider for Pickens and Gilmer counties, providing a range of services including cardiac rehabilitation and imaging, cardiac catheterization, orthopedic services and general surgery.
Additionally, Piedmont Mountainside offers intensive care and 24-hour emergency services. Piedmont Mountainside opened a free-standing emergency department in Ellijay, Georgia, in fiscal year 2017. That facility, which operates as an extension of the emergency department at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital, provides 24-hour access to emergency physicians, nurses, labs and radiology technicians.
Piedmont Mountainside Emergency Services at Ellijay offers similar services to a hospital-based emergency department, like moderate complexity blood testing and advanced imaging, and provides care for most emergency illnesses such as heart attack, stroke and minor trauma.
Piedmont Newnan is a 217-bed, acute-care, community hospital in Newnan, Georgia. Piedmont Newnan is a cornerstone of wellness as the only acute-care facility in Coweta County. Piedmont Newton is a 103-bed, acute-care, community hospital in Covington, Georgia offering 24-hour emergency services, women’s services, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and general medical/surgical services. In May 2019, Piedmont Newton completed a $10 million expansion and renovation of the Emergency Department. The project doubled the department’s capacity from 16 beds to 32 beds, created an additional nurses’ station, and a room for higher acuity trauma cases. Serving Newton County and surrounding communities for over 60 years, Piedmont Newton Hospital offers high-quality, patient-centered care. A trusted source of comprehensive, high-quality care for residents of Conyers and surrounding communities, Piedmont Rockdale is a cornerstone of wellness as the only acute-care facility in Rockdale County. Piedmont Rockdale offers 24-hour emergency services, including interventional cardiology, critical care, obstetrics, and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). We are a Primary Stroke Center with on-site neurohospitalists. In addition to traditional medical and surgical services, we proudly provide subspecialized care from fellowship-trained providers. These clinicians offer expertise in advanced gastroenterology, orthopedics, robotic surgery, and medical and surgical oncology. Our surgical team also includes colorectal, breast, thoracic, and gynecologic oncology specialists.

Piedmont Walton is a 77-bed, not-for-profit community hospital in Monroe, Georgia and serves as the sole hospital provider for the Walton County community. With more than 550 employees and 450 physicians, Piedmont Walton offers 24-hour emergency services, with a designated level III trauma center, plus other major medical, surgical and diagnostic care.
