Support Throughout The Spine Surgery Process

Piedmont Spine Center nurse Louise Hardage, RN, CNRN, explains some of the educational and support services offered to Piedmont Spine Center patients, including the preoperative spine education class and in-patient resources for a healthy recovery.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the practice of puncturing the skin with needles at certain anatomical points in the body to relieve symptoms associated with certain disorders and conditions including musculoskeletal pain. The anatomical points (acupuncture points) are thought to have certain electrical properties, which affect chemical neurotransmitters in the body.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

Cardiac Rehabilitation at the Fuqua Heart Center is a clinically supervised program. Our combined and comprehensive programming of medical evaluation, prescribed exercise, education, diet counseling, stress reduction, and psychosocial support components are designed to enhance and promote your physical and mental well-being.

Diabetes Services

Obtain the help and support you need to learn to live with and better manage your diabetes at the Diabetes Resource Center.

Fitness Center

When you become a member of the Piedmont Fitness Center, you are guided through a private, comprehensive Personal Fitness Profile with an exercise physiologist. An exercise prescription is then developed based on your cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength/body composition, flexibility and, of course, personal goals. Whether it's losing 10 pounds or training for a triathlon, we want you to succeed.

Guest Center

The Guest Center provides a limited number of private hotel-style overnight accommodations for patients and visitors.

Nutritional Services

Proper nutrition is an essential ingredient to improving health. Piedmont's registered dietitians have extensive background in nutrition, biochemistry, physiology, and behavioral and social sciences. We can help patients make the correct nutritional choices based on specific health needs.

Rehab/PT

It's not unusual to lose some mobility after surgery or with certain medical conditions. Sometimes, you just can't move like you could before.

Sixty Plus Older Adult Services

Our mission is to help older patients lead healthy lifestyles, maximize independence, promote safety, and experience a satisfying quality of life. This helps to enhance the well-being of older adults and their families.

The Spiritual Care Services staff is responsible for assisting with the spiritual and religious needs of each patient, family member and staff member who requests our services. Our staff is made up of two clinically trained, board certified chaplains, eight on-call chaplains, and a number of trained and experienced lay volunteers.

Piedmont performs more surgeries than most hospitals in the Southeast—more than 25,000 each year in all specialties. Piedmont's Surgical Services embody the hospital's commitment to breadth and depth of expertise in an atmosphere of compassionate care. An emphasis on teamwork, with much collaboration among physicians, staff and patients, helps ensure the highest quality of care.

Waters Pavilion

The secured-access Waters Pavilion at Piedmont has been thoughtfully designed for the patient who desires enhanced amenities and services as a complement to our world-class healthcare.

Maintaining Weight Loss

A healthy weight for a person's height can promote health benefits such as lower cholesterol and blood sugar levels, lower blood pressure, less stress on bones and joints, and less work for the heart. Thus, it is vital to maintain weight loss to obtain health benefits over a lifetime.
