Patient-centered treatment

We optimize care plans based on each patient’s unique needs, concerns and health history.

If you have a certain heart condition or risk factors and are trying to conceive, or are pregnant or postpartum, our cardio-obstetrics team is here to support you with expert, specialized cardiac care.

You may benefit from cardio-obstetrics care if you have:

  • A pre-existing heart condition
  • Cardiovascular risk factors
  • Had prior cardiac interventions
  • A history of adverse pregnancy outcomes such as hypertensive disorders during pregnancy, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes or peripartum cardiomyopathy

Our women’s heart cardiologists partner with your maternal-fetal medicine specialist, OB-GYN and anesthesiologist to develop an optimized care plan to support your heart and overall health.

Comprehensive care through this program includes:

  • Risk assessment and diagnostic evaluations
  • Access to advanced imaging
  • Increased monitoring and education
  • Ongoing management of cardiovascular conditions

Our Women's Heart program provides specialized, comprehensive cardiovascular care for women. Piedmont's cardio-obstetrics program is dedicated to helping reduce maternal mortality and to improving outcomes for pregnant women.
