If you have a certain heart condition or risk factors and are trying to conceive, or are pregnant or postpartum, our cardio-obstetrics team is here to support you with expert, specialized cardiac care.
You may benefit from cardio-obstetrics care if you have:
- A pre-existing heart condition
- Cardiovascular risk factors
- Had prior cardiac interventions
- A history of adverse pregnancy outcomes such as hypertensive disorders during pregnancy, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes or peripartum cardiomyopathy
Our women’s heart cardiologists partner with your maternal-fetal medicine specialist, OB-GYN and anesthesiologist to develop an optimized care plan to support your heart and overall health.
Comprehensive care through this program includes:
- Risk assessment and diagnostic evaluations
- Access to advanced imaging
- Increased monitoring and education
- Ongoing management of cardiovascular conditions
Our Women's Heart program provides specialized, comprehensive cardiovascular care for women. Piedmont's cardio-obstetrics program is dedicated to helping reduce maternal mortality and to improving outcomes for pregnant women.
