Adult volunteers at Piedmont Rockdale

Overview

Piedmont Rockdale is honored to welcome adult members of the community to volunteer their time. Our adult volunteer group is called the Piedmont Rockdale Auxiliary. Volunteers serve at our entrance and guest services areas, information desk, golf cart drivers, and some specialty departments. Our hope is that you choose to volunteer with us for at least one year, but we do require that volunteers make at least a six (6)-month commitment. Once your application has been received, you will be contacted by Volunteer Services to review volunteer requirements and opportunities. Currently, our greatest needs are at our Entrance/Guest Services Desks and Golf Cart Drivers.

Requirements of accepted applicants

You must attend quarterly Auxiliary membership meetings, held on the second Tuesday of March, June, September and December at 11 a.m. At your first meeting, you will:

  • Meet other Auxiliary members.
  • Undergo a background check.
  • Visit with our Employee Health Department to verify your immunity to mumps, measles, rubella, and varicella (chickenpox) and tuberculosis (TB).
  • Complete required annual training .
  • Schedule training and start dates with other Auxiliary Board.
  • Complete your badging process.
  • Receive your volunteer Auxiliary uniform.

Volunteers are required to obtain an influenza (flu) vaccine each respiratory virus season (September-March). Anyone who is not vaccinated for flu will be required to wear a mask when inside a Piedmont facility during respiratory virus seasons.
