Piedmont Atlanta pharmacy residency program

Overview

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is the flagship institution of Piedmont Healthcare. It is a 643-bed facility renowned for its high quality, patient-centered healthcare. Piedmont Hospital is an acute-care community hospital offering all major medical, surgical and diagnostic services, including 24-hour emergency services, transplantation and comprehensive care.

With six ICUs and over 120 intensive care beds, Piedmont Atlanta remains one of the highest acuity community hospitals in the nation.

The pharmacy department provides 24-hour inpatient pharmacy services and is staffed by over 100 employees. Twenty-two of which serve as dedicated pharmacy residency preceptors.

Pharmacy residency

A PGY-1 residency builds upon the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to develop clinical pharmacists with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to assume the responsibility of complex medication-related care.

Critical care pharmacy residency

Postgraduate year 2 (PGY2) residency programs build upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency training to develop pharmacist practitioners with knowledge, skills, and abilities to assume the responsibility of complex-medication related care.
