Piedmont Athens Regional

Piedmont Athens Regional is one of northeast Georgia’s largest not-for-profit hospitals. The 427-bed,  acute care hospital joined the Piedmont family in 2016 and features a regional Level II trauma center and Level III neonatal ICU. Founded by physicians in 1919, the hospital has garnered national acclaim for patient experience, comprehensive cardiac care including open heart and thoracic surgery, orthopedics, neurosciences, minimally invasive surgeries, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, oncology and gastroenterology. Today, Piedmont Athens Regional is committed to providing accessible healthcare by making seamless connections between patients and providers. To support our commitment, in 2022, Piedmont Athens opened a $194 million patient tower with state-of-the-art technology to deliver convenient care to patients from across the region.

Piedmont Athens Regional is proud to be the official healthcare provider for the University of Georgia Athletic Association. The hospital also serves as an educational training site for hundreds of medical students from the Augusta University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership.

Piedmont Atlanta

Piedmont Atlanta, the flagship hospital of Piedmont Healthcare, has served Atlanta for more than a century. What started in 1905 as a 10-bed sanatorium has grown into a 643-bed facility renowned for its high quality, patient-centered healthcare. Piedmont Hospital is an acute-care community hospital offering all major medical, surgical and diagnostic services, including 24-hour emergency services, transplantation and comprehensive care. As a not-for-profit organization, hospital earnings maintain and enhance services and facilities and support education, outreach, and research activities. Piedmont Augusta

Piedmont Augusta, founded in 1818, is the oldest and largest hospital in our region and the second oldest in Georgia. This 812-bed, not-for-profit community hospital provides acute-care services and encompasses two campuses and serves 25 counties across two states.

The hospital joined the Piedmont family on March 1, 2022, and leads the region in safety, quality and price transparency. In addition to improving the health of those we serve, Piedmont Augusta gives back to our community in other ways, including contributing more than $1 billion annually to our community and providing more than $41 million in indigent and charity care.

Piedmont Augusta continues to train tomorrow’s caregivers, spending nearly $20 million in 2021 for our School of Radiography, School of Cardiovascular Technology and interns and residents.

Piedmont Cartersville

Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center is a 139-bed acute care hospital, Chest Pain Center, Certified Primary Stroke Center, Level III Trauma Center, Certified Total Joint program and Gold Seal Inpatient Diabetes program facility accredited by the Joint Commission. The Breast Imaging Center provides mammography services that are gold seal accredited by the American College of Radiology. The Advanced Wound Healing Center provides specialized treatment for chronic or non-healing wounds. The Hope Center, a regional cancer treatment facility, is conveniently located on the hospital campus and provides over 4,000 treatments with over 300 new patients per year from a 10 county region.

Piedmont Columbus Regional

Piedmont Columbus Regional dates back to 1836 when the local hospital was a small building on the Chattahoochee River. It is now the region’s healthcare leader, offering compassionate care and an unwavering commitment to patients. Piedmont Columbus Regional consists of two hospitals, a cancer center, and over 35 physician practice locations. Piedmont Columbus Regional joined the Piedmont family in March 2018.

Midtown Campus is a 583-bed, acute care hospital and features a regional Level II trauma center and is one of only six perinatal centers in the state with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The only Piedmont facility with a Children’s Hospital is getting an upgrade: the former Doctors Hospital is being transformed into the Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital; the freestanding facility is slated to open in fall 2024. It has been home to the Family Medicine Program since 1972. The nationally recognized program, which was the first of its kind in Georgia and one of the first in the Southeast, has graduated over 1,000 family physicians.

Northside Campus is a licensed 100-bed general acute care hospital specializing in orthopedic, spine, bariatrics, and surgical services. The hospital’s commitment to delivering outstanding clinical quality is nationally recognized, and Northside prides itself on offering the highest levels of customer service.

Piedmont Eastside

Piedmont Eastside Medical Center has been a healthcare leader for 40 years providing quality care to patients in Gwinnett and surrounding counties. Piedmont Eastside Medical is a 310-bed, multi-campus system of care offering comprehensive medical and surgical programs including cardiovascular, neurosciences, oncology, orthopedics, robotic surgery, rehabilitation, maternity with neonatal intensive care, behavioral health, bariatric, urgent care, and 24-hour emergency care at two locations.

Piedmont Macon

Piedmont Macon Medical Center is a 310-bed facility providing compassionate, patient-centered care in middle Georgia. Founded in 1971 as Coliseum Park Hospital by Hospital Corporation of America, Piedmont Macon Medical has grown to be a healthcare leader for middle Georgians. In May 1998, a merger with two other Macon hospitals, middle Georgia and Coliseum Northside Hospitals, provided our community better access and choice of quality healthcare facilities.

At Piedmont Macon, we are dedicated to improving the health of those in the communities we serve. We take pride in the outstanding care we provide and our record of accomplishment speaks for itself. For three consecutive years, Piedmont Macon has achieved Healthgrades: Top 5% in the Nation for Patient Safety. Piedmont Macon North

Piedmont Macon North Hospital is a 103-bed community hospital nestled in the Georgia pines and offers expertise in a variety of specialties, including orthopedic care, spine care, bariatric surgery, and gastric reflux disease. Piedmont Macon North was established in 1984 by Charter Medical Corporation as Charter Northside Hospital. In 1993, Quorum, a Nashville, Tennessee-based hospital management company, purchased 13 medical-surgical hospitals from Charter Medical, including Northside. In 1998, Quorum and HCA merged Coliseum Medical Centers and Macon Northside Hospitals to provide our community with better access to quality healthcare.

Now known as Piedmont Macon North, the facility resides on a beautifully landscaped campus between Forest Hill Road and Forsyth Road in Macon. It proudly serves residents of middle Georgia with a full array of comprehensive services.

Piedmont McDuffie

Piedmont McDuffie (formerly University Hospital McDuffie) was founded in 1952. This 25-bed not-for-profit medical center serves McDuffie, Glascock, Jefferson, Lincoln, Warren, Wilkes, Taliaferro and western Columbia counties. The hospital joined the Piedmont family on March 1, 2022, and is dedicated to improving the health of those within the community it serves regardless of a patient’s ability to pay.

Piedmont McDuffie is committed to providing care close to home. This includes the creation of a special “Swing Bed” unit for patients who no longer need acute care but still require rehabilitation services before returning home. Piedmont McDuffie in 2021 provided 1,652 patient days of Swing Bed care to our patients. This extended care at Piedmont McDuffie offers peace of mind for patients who do not want to travel to a rehabilitation or skilled nursing center far away from their homes.

Piedmont Mountainside

Piedmont Mountainside is a not-for-profit, acute-care community hospital located in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains. Hospital staff are dedicated to delivering unsurpassed medical care to the residents of Pickens, Gilmer and North Cherokee counties and surrounding communities. We are the sole hospital provider for Pickens and Gilmer counties, providing a range of services including cardiac rehabilitation and imaging, cardiac catheterization, orthopedic services and general surgery.

Additionally, Piedmont Mountainside offers intensive care and 24-hour emergency services. Piedmont Mountainside opened a free-standing emergency department in Ellijay, Georgia, in fiscal year 2017. That facility, which operates as an extension of the emergency department at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital, provides 24-hour access to emergency physicians, nurses, labs and radiology technicians.

Piedmont Mountainside Emergency Services at Ellijay offers similar services to a hospital-based emergency department, like moderate complexity blood testing and advanced imaging, and provides care for most emergency illnesses such as heart attack, stroke and minor trauma.

Piedmont Newnan

Piedmont Newnan is a 167-bed, acute-care, community hospital in Newnan, Georgia. Piedmont Newnan is a cornerstone of wellness as the only acute-care facility in Coweta County. Since joining Piedmont Healthcare in 2007, the hospital generated more than $1 billion in revenue for the local and state economy in the first five years, while at the same time providing nearly $44 million in uncompensated care. Piedmont Newton

Piedmont Newton is a 103-bed, acute-care, community hospital in Covington, Georgia offering 24-hour emergency services, women’s services, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and general medical/surgical services. In May 2019, Piedmont Newton completed a $10 million expansion and renovation of the Emergency Department. The project doubled the department’s capacity from 16 beds to 32 beds, created an additional nurses’ station, and a room for higher acuity trauma cases.
