Diabetes Resource Center

The Diabetes Resource Center is looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic, compassionate, and have a non-judgmental attitude. Volunteers should be flexible, dependable, and able to accept guidance and follow directions. The Diabetes Resource Center is in need of help Monday afternoon through Wednesday, plus all day Friday. Volunteer needs vary depending on volume, special projects, and the capabilities of the volunteer.

Responsibilities include the following:


  • Filing patient records
  • Thinning patient files from file drawers
  • Faxing documentation to MDs
  • Helping with check-in of patients for Diabetes Basics on Wednesdays @ 7 a.m.
  • Helping greet patients at follow-up group on Tuesdays @ 7:15 a.m.
  • Entering data
  • Setting up Excel spreadsheets and entering data for new programs
  • Revising PowerPoint presentations and Word documents using content provided by clinicians and manager
  • Assembling patient records
  • Helping patients find classroom #6 on Wednesdays @ 7 a.m.

Volunteers may need to push patients in wheelchairs and lift boxes containing printed materials. There are no hazardous materials involved. Adults and teens are welcome to volunteer for the Diabetes Resource Center.
