Teen volunteers at Piedmont Atlanta

Overview
Piedmont Atlanta is proud to offer a teen volunteer program in the summer for high school students ages 16-17 (must be 16 by June 1st). This summer volunteer program offers teens the opportunity to support hospital and clinic departments while learning about healthcare careers. Tasks may include check-in & guest services, organizing clinical supplies, supporting patient needs (i.e. delivering meal trays, flowers, water, blankets, etc), assisting with department and clinical needs. The Teen Volunteer program will also provide career readiness and leadership development training opportunities.
Expanded volunteer opportunities during the school year will be provided to eligible teens who have completed the summer program. The 2026 summer teen program will accept up to 20-25 teens.
Requirements of accepted applicants:
- Serve at least one consistent shift per week (Monday–Friday) for at least six of the eight-week program.
- Immunity to Mumps, Measles, Rubella, and Varicella (Chicken Pox) is required of all volunteers. Volunteers are also required to complete TB test.
- Submit Headshot for Badging
- Pay $25 program fee
- Sign all required volunteer documents and agreements, including parental/guardian signatures.
- Attend mandatory volunteer orientation
- Show academic excellence by having a 3.0 GPA or higher. Interest in exploring a career in healthcare is required.
- Recommendation Form completed by at least (2) teachers, counselors, coach, or boss/manager. Cannot be a family member. Please note that an email and phone number of the recommenders will be required with your application for them to receive the form directly.
Application Timeline: March 8th - March 22nd
Program Commitment: June 8 – July 31, 2026 (Volunteering not required, but available the week of June 29 – July 3)
Orientation Date: If you cannot attend this orientation date, you should postpone applying until next summer.
