Care Partner Policy (Updated August 12, 2021)

Effective immediately, Piedmont Mountainside Hospital will allow one Care Partner for patients in the hospital (inpatients) from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily, unless the patient is positive or under investigation for COVID-19.

Patients in the Emergency Department will also be allowed one Care Partner.

No Care Partners will be allowed with outpatient visits unless the patient needs assistance or its required for the procedure.

Care Partners will need to pass symptom screening questions, wear color-coded stickers and continue wearing face masks in the hospital.

Our Care Partner policy:

  • One Care Partner allowed for patients in the Emergency Room.
  • One Care Partner for inpatients, unless they are COVID-positive or are under investigation for COVID-19.
  • No Care Partners will be permitted for patients diagnosed with or under investigation for COVID-19.
  • Inpatient Care Partners can be with the patient from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily.
  • All Care Partners must wear a face covering at all times on campus, including while in patient rooms, and practice social distancing.
  • No Care Partners will be allowed for outpatient visits unless the patient needs assistance or its required for the procedure.
  • No visitation for children under 12 years of age in any area, unless they are receiving treatment.
  • Minor children here for treatment may have both parents with them.
  • Care Partners must be 18 years or older.
  • All care partners, vendors, etc., must pass the health screen and wear a color-coded sticker signifying they have passed the screening. Stickers are color coded by day of the week.
  • Any exceptions to the policy must be approved by the designated Piedmont Mountainside executive.

Patients are encouraged to use electronic means of visitation such as video call applications on cell phones or tablets.

While we regret the inconvenience it may cause for some patients, safety is at the center of our organization and we believe these steps are necessary to create the safest environment at our hospital.
