Piedmont Mountainside Visitor Information
Care Partner Policy (Updated March 21, 2022)
Effective immediately, Piedmont Mountainside Hospital will institute the following visitation policy.
There will no longer be screeners at the front door. All visitors will be allowed in with the following guidelines:
- If you are a visitor and have a fever or other symptoms of respiratory illness (e.g., cough or shortness of breath), you are not allowed to visit anyone in the hospital.
- All visitors must practice social distancing and wear a surgical/medical, K95 or N95 mask at all times while in the hospital. Surgical/medical masks will be provided if needed. NO CLOTH MASKS.
- All visitors must check in at the nurses' station before proceeding to the patient’s room.
Additionally, the following rules still apply:
- Inpatient visitation is from 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. daily for no more than two individuals unless the patient is COVID-19 positive.
- Patients diagnosed with COVID-19 are permitted one visitor per day if it is in the best interest of the patient's care. Visitors must follow all applicable infection prevention guidelines.
- Visitors under the age of 12 are not allowed except for siblings of newborns in the Women’s Center.
- Patients in the Emergency Department will be allowed one visitor unless the patient is a minor child or under special circumstances.
- Outpatient visitors are discouraged due to limited space to comply with social distancing unless care support is required for the patient.
Our goal is to ensure the safest environment for patients, families, staff and the community.
Patients are encouraged to use electronic visitation means such as cell phone or tablet video call applications.
