Piedmont Fayette Visitor Information
Care Partner Policy (Updated September 18, 2023)
Piedmont Fayette’s visiting hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., seven days a week.
Piedmont Fayette Hospital recommends two designated care partners at a time per patient. If a unit leader approves, one care partner can stay with the patient overnight.
If a patient is staying in a semi-private room, it is recommended that each patient only have a maximum of two visitors.
- It is also recommended that care partners under the age of 12 are not allowed at this time.
- Labor and Delivery allows three designated care partners at a time, 24/7.
- The Family Care Center and Antepartum Unit allow four designated care partners at a time, with one allowed to stay overnight. Siblings may visit those units during hospital-wide visitation hours.
- The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) allows two designated/banded infant guardians. Additional visitors can be allowed with authorization from guardians.
- The Obstetrical Emergency Department allows one care partner.
- The number of care partners allowed in a patient’s room is subject to change depending on their care needs. The focus has to be on the safety of our patients and staff.
- Piedmont Fayette may adjust their masking guidelines for staff members and visitors based on the Covid-19 transmission rate in the community. During a high transmission rate, visitors would be encouraged to wear a mask at all times.
Piedmont also encourages the use of electronic devices to communicate with patients who are hospitalized.
