Executive Director of Major Gifts


Current Responsibilities

Kelly Loftin is the Executive Director of Major Gifts for the Piedmont Healthcare Foundation. In this role, she is responsible for leading a team of six gift officers and fundraising staff who raise more than $20 million annually across the 16-hospital system. Most recently, Loftin lead the team to successfully complete a $150 million Building Better Capital Campaign to build the Marcus Tower at Piedmont Atlanta.

Loftin is responsible for philanthropic strategy, guiding the team, cultivating and soliciting donors and managing an active portfolio of major donors. She works with physicians, board members, hospital leadership and Foundation staff to provide direction of fundraising efforts for Piedmont’s system of hospitals, outpatient centers, emergency services and physician practices.

As an extension of the healing team, she partners with physicians and clinicians to recognize patient’s gratitude and turn heartfelt appreciation into philanthropic resources for Piedmont.

Prior Experience 
Loftin spent a brief period away from Piedmont serving as Director of Major Gifts at New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC) in Wilmington, North Carolina.At NHRMC, she served as a leader for the Foundation and an advisor for the six-person team while managing philanthropic programs that maximize individual, corporate and foundation support.She was responsible for managing a portfolio of major donors and developing fundraising strategy for the teaching hospital and regional referral center.

Education, Community and Family

She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from Georgia State University. She serves as past president for the Georgia Association of Development Professionals Board of Trustees and is an active member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

In her free time, Loftin enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her family.  She and her husband, Allen, have two daughters, March age 18 and Willa, age 16.
