Monroe, Ga. (June 5, 2026) - Community members will have the opportunity to step into better health when Road Runner Shoes returns to the Walton County YMCA for its second “Shoe Day” event on Tuesday, June 16, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The event will feature advanced foot analysis technology designed to help participants find the right shoes, socks, and insoles for proper support and alignment. Representatives from Road Runner Shoes will be on site to conduct free personalized assessments that evaluate factors such as arch height, gait and muscle balance. Participants will be able to purchase shoes and other products recommended by the analysis.

The analysis can identify issues such as uneven arches or differences in strength between the Achilles tendons, helping participants select footwear that may improve comfort, reduce pain, and prevent injury.

“This is such a valuable service for our community,” said Susie Payne, community nurse educator at Piedmont Walton and YMCA partner. “I had suffered with right hip pain for years, had shots, physical therapy and medication. Nothing worked until I did the foot analysis and bought the right shoes with the right insoles. My right hip hasn’t hurt since then.”

Road Runner Shoes offers a wide variety of footwear and accessories, and products will be available for purchase during the event.

The event is open to all community members. No appointment or YMCA membership is required.

The Walton County YMCA is located at 1101 Double Springs Church Road in Monroe. For more information, contact the Walton County YMCA at 770-267-9622.
