Respiratory Consultants of Georgia joins Piedmont Healthcare

Cartersville, Ga. (July 20, 2026) — Piedmont Healthcare is expanding access to specialized pulmonary and sleep medicine care in Northwest Georgia through the integration of Respiratory Consultants of Georgia into its physician network. The practice, which has served the region for years, will now operate as Piedmont Physicians Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Cartersville, bringing four experienced specialists and a dedicated team of caregivers into the Piedmont family.

Located at 21 Pointe North Drive in Cartersville, the practice will continue providing comprehensive pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine services while offering patients the added benefits of Piedmont's integrated system of care. Patients will continue seeing the same trusted physicians and staff they know and rely on, while gaining greater access to Piedmont's network of specialists, technology and coordinated care resources

The practice's experienced physician team includes Suzette A. Chin, MD; Melissa B. Rhodes, MD; Timothy J. Lin, MD; and Jody M. Hughes, MD, who collectively provide comprehensive care for pulmonary diseases, critical care conditions and sleep disorders.

Dr. Chin is board-certified in pulmonary and critical care medicine and has served patients throughout Northwest Georgia for nearly 20 years. Her clinical interests include sarcoidosis, pulmonary rehabilitation, interstitial lung disease and pulmonary vascular disease, and she is committed to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals with complex pulmonary conditions.

Dr. Rhodes earned her medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine and is board-certified in pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine and sleep medicine. With more than 25 years of experience serving patients in Northwest Georgia, she provides comprehensive pulmonary care with particular clinical interests in interstitial lung disease and sleep medicine.

Dr. Lin is a board-certified physician in pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine and sleep medicine. With nearly 20 years of service to the Bartow County community, he has extensive experience diagnosing and treating complex respiratory conditions, including COPD, asthma and sleep apnea. His commitment to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care has helped generations of patients access specialized pulmonary services without leaving the region.

Dr. Hughes received his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine and is board-certified in pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine. With expertise in the management of general pulmonary diseases, he is dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care that helps patients achieve optimal respiratory health
