Athens, Ga. (March 16, 2026) – Piedmont Athens and Piedmont Walton hospitals are partnering with Safe Kids Athens to host a free car seat safety check on Saturday, March 21, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Medical Services Building Parking Lot, 242 King Avenue, Athens, 30606.
Certified technicians will be on-site to inspect car seats and ensure they are properly installed to keep children safe. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to bring their vehicles and car seats for a thorough, hands-on safety check.
“Car seats save lives, but only when they’re used correctly,” said April Dorsett, Safe Kids Athens coordinator. “Our goal is to give families peace of mind by making sure their children are as safe as possible on the road.”
According to the National Safety Council, every 33 seconds a child under the age of 13 is involved in a motor vehicle crash. Proper installation significantly reduces the chance of serious harm to children during an accident.
