Piedmont Rockdale expands access to specialized cancer care with new oncology practice

Conyers, Ga. (July 24, 2026) – Piedmont Rockdale Hospital and Piedmont Oncology have expanded access to specialized cancer care in Rockdale County with the opening of Piedmont Physicians Surgical and Gynecologic Oncology Rockdale. Piedmont and the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce celebrated the milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 15.

This practice strengthens our ability to provide comprehensive cancer care for our community.”

The new practice is led by two fellowship-trained physicians: surgical oncologist Brett Walker, MD, and gynecologic oncologist Daniel Donato, MD. It is conveniently located in Suite 300 of the hospital, located at 1412 Milstead Avenue in Conyers.

Dr. Walker cares for patients with a broad range of malignancies, with a focus on skin cancers, soft tissue sarcoma, gastrointestinal cancers, and adrenal tumors. Dr. Donato specializes in ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar, and vaginal cancers as well as complex benign gynecologic conditions. Both physicians have experience in advanced robotic and minimally invasive surgical techniques to support faster recovery.

The new practice builds on Piedmont Rockdale's growing cancer program, which also includes medical oncology, infusion services, and fellowship-trained colorectal and breast surgical oncology specialists. Together, these services provide patients with access to coordinated cancer care throughout their treatment journey.
