Piedmont Primary Care at Monroe welcomes internal medicine physician

Monroe, Ga. (July 6, 2026) — Piedmont Primary Care at Monroe Pavilion is pleased to welcome Oyovwike Sandra Amedu, MD, an internal medicine physician, to its growing team of primary care providers in Walton County. Dr. Amedu is now accepting new patients.

"We are excited to welcome Dr. Amedu to our team," said Leah Mitchell, director of physician operations for Walton’s primary care practices. "Her commitment to patient-centered care and passion for preventive medicine will be a tremendous asset to our patients and the Monroe community."

As a primary care physician, Dr. Amedu is dedicated to helping patients achieve and maintain their best health through preventive care and personalized treatment plans. Her clinical interests include women's health, weight management, preventive care, and chronic disease management.

"Primary care plays a vital role in helping patients stay healthy and navigate every stage of life," said Dr. Amedu. "I look forward to building lasting relationships with all patients and partnering with them to achieve their health and wellness goals."

Dr. Amedu earned her medical degree from the University of Benin College of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.

Piedmont Primary Care at Monroe Pavilion offers comprehensive care for adults, including preventive screenings, annual wellness exams, chronic disease management and coordination of specialty care when needed.
