Piedmont Newton welcomes primary care physician Maryam Tarar, DO

Covington, Ga. (August 28, 2026) – Piedmont Newton is pleased to welcome Maryam Tarar, DO, an internal medicine physician, to its primary care team at Piedmont Physicians at Brown Bridge. Dr. Tarar is now accepting new patients.

Dr. Tarar looks forward to helping patients achieve their health goals. Her clinical interests include preventive medicine and wellness, chronic disease management, and cardiovascular health.

“I see primary care as an opportunity to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and support them through every stage of their health journey,” said Dr. Tarar. “I believe in listening to my patients, understanding what matters most to them, and making decisions together. My goal is to provide compassionate, comprehensive care with a strong focus on prevention and helping patients feel informed and confident about their health.”

Dr. Tarar earned her medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at Augusta University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership in Athens.
