Piedmont Newton welcomes gastroenterologist Dariush Shahsavari, M.D.
Covington, Ga. (July 1, 2026) – Piedmont Newton Hospital is pleased to welcome Dariush Shahsavari, M.D., to Piedmont Physicians Gastroenterology Newton.
Dr. Shahsavari is board-certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and hepatology. His clinical interests include colon cancer prevention, acid reflux, constipation, inflammatory bowel disease, and liver diseases. He treats a wide range of digestive conditions, including heartburn, trouble swallowing, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, and other gastrointestinal disorders.
“We’re excited to welcome Dr. Shahsavari to our gastroenterology team,” said Piedmont Newton CEO Lindsey Petrini. “His expertise will help expand access to high-quality digestive health care close to home, including lifesaving colon cancer screenings.”
Dr. Shahsavari received his medical degree from Semmelweis Medical University in Hungary and completed his residency in internal medicine at MedStar Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, Md. He completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Shahsavari speaks both English and Persian (Farsi).
