Piedmont Newton receives Advanced Hip & Knee Replacement Certification from DNV

Covington, Ga. (July 17, 2026) – Piedmont Newton Hospital is proud to announce that it has earned Advanced Hip & Knee Replacement Certification from DNV, reinforcing its commitment to delivering high-quality and safe orthopedic care close to home.

“This certification will give patients even greater confidence in our orthopedic surgery capabilities,” said Piedmont Newton CEO Lindsey Petrini. “It also reflects the strength of our partnership with OrthoAtlanta. I’m thankful to the surgical and orthopedic teams for their hard work to achieve this recognition.”

The Advanced Hip & Knee Replacement Certification recognizes hospitals and surgery centers that provide exceptional care in hip and knee joint replacement surgeries. To earn the certification, Piedmont Newton completed a comprehensive, expert-led survey that focused on the entire joint replacement journey, including patient education, surgical technique, and rehabilitation. The current certification is valid through May 2029.

The DNV Advanced Hip & Knee Replacement Certification requirements are informed by the ERAS® Society Orthopaedic guidelines, the guidelines of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons Clinical Practice Guidelines, and relevant requirements of the CMS Conditions of Participation for Hospitals.
