
Piedmont Macon recognized by US News & World Report as high-performing in five specialty care areas

Macon, Ga. (August 20, 2026) – Piedmont Macon Medical Center and Piedmont Macon North Hospital have been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as high-performing hospitals for a combined five adult procedures and conditions.
The digital media company that’s widely known for publishing data-driven rankings has recognized Piedmont Macon for 2026-2027 as being high performing in the following categories:
- Back surgery (Spinal Fusion) – Piedmont Macon Medical Center.
- Diabetes – Piedmont Macon Medical Center.
- Heart Attack – Piedmont Macon Medical Center.
- Stroke – Piedmont Macon Medical Center.
- Pneumonia – Piedmont Macon North Hospital.
The designation of “high ranking” identifies hospitals that perform significantly better than the national average in particular areas based on factors including patient outcomes, quality of care, patient experience and other measures.
