Piedmont Macon hosts 'Know Your Numbers' conference Oct. 22

Macon, Ga. (October 7, 2026) – Piedmont Macon Medical Center is inviting Middle Georgians to a free “Know Your Numbers” community health conference designed to take the guesswork out of personal wellness and to help community members better understand and manage key health indicators that can impact their overall well-being.
The conference will take place Thursday, October 22, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in a conference room on the ground floor of the Macon Mall. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m.
The interactive event aims to empower residents to take charge of their well-being by understanding critical health markers like blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and body mass index (BMI). To help attendees get started, Piedmont Macon will provide free on-site health screenings, including blood pressure, glucose and stroke risk assessments.
“Knowing your numbers, and more importantly, the significance behind those numbers will give you a deeper understanding of your own health,” said Nisarg Patel, MD, of Piedmont Primary Care at Bass Road in Macon. “The information provided in this conference will not only help you understand the science behind preventative care, but also how you can play an active role in it.”
The conference agenda features presentations from Piedmont Macon physicians, clinicians and healthcare leaders covering a range of health topics such as diabetes, nutrition, cardiovascular health, stroke awareness and understanding laboratory results. Sessions are tailored to provide highly practical, everyday advice on chronic disease management and preventative care.
Featured sessions include “Taking Charge of Your Health,” “Diabetes 101,” “Nutrition Tips for Chronic Diseases,” “How to Read Your Lab Work,” “Hypertension and Heart Health” and “Stroke Warning Signs and Symptoms.”
“Knowing your numbers is one of the most important steps people can take toward preventing disease and improving their long-term health,” said Claire Paris, MD, chief medical officer of Piedmont Macon Medical Center and Piedmont Macon North Hospital. “This conference will provide practical information, free screenings and access to healthcare experts who can help individuals better understand their health and make informed decisions about their care.”
The event will be held at the Macon Mall, 3661 Eisenhower Parkway in Macon. Lunch will be provided for all registered attendees.
While admission is free, registration is required. Community members can secure their spot online or call 478.663.9385.
