Fayetteville, Ga. (June 25, 2026) - Piedmont Fayette Hospital recently hosted their annual Promise 360 Awards Celebration. The event recognized the hospital’s monthly winners from the past year and named the overall champion for the year for the hospital and a runner-up.

Ouma Badjie, a nutrition services representative, was named the overall champion for the assistance she provided to a lost woman. In December of 2025, Ouma was leaving work and saw an elderly woman wandering in the employee parking area. It was bitterly cold and the woman didn’t have a heavy coat. Concerned for her safety, Ouma stopped to help her. She learned the woman was a 90- year-old patient with Alzheimer's who had been undergoing care on campus. She had become separated from her caregiver during her visit and was trying to find her way. Recognizing the situation, Ouma escorted the patient to the West Hospital entrance to help her find him. Thankfully, the caregiver arrived inside searching for the patient, and thanks to Ouma’s attentiveness and going the extra mile, they were safely reunited.

“Ouma’s kindness and compassion, as well as trusting her instincts, helped someone in need” said Piedmont Fayette CEO Steve Porter. “Our goal is to make a positive difference in every life we touch and Ouma didn’t hesitate to step in and do just that.”

This year’s runner-up was Trevor Rose, a patient care technician on Piedmont Fayette’s Intermediate Care Unit. He was nominated by a colleague who witnessed the care and attention he provided to a confused and agitated patient with dementia. Trevor pushed a chair up to the patient and offered her encouraging words and a seat to rest. She instantly turned around and melted into Trevor.

“He took time to meet this family where they were and had the ability to calm her down,” the nomination letter read. “He reminded us all why we work in healthcare that day. Trevor truly made a difference and kept the patient and her family at the center.”

Patients, visitors, fellow staff members or department leaders can nominate employees who go above and beyond for others for a Promise 360 award. The overall winner from each hospital in the Piedmont system becomes a nominee for the President’s Award which will be presented later this year.

“All of our nominees this year were outstanding examples of doing what it takes to provide high-quality, patient-centered care,” said Porter. “They took ownership of the situation and created positive experiences for all involved.”
