Piedmont expands Primary Care Services with addition of Shannon Christian, MD

Monroe, Ga. (July 20, 2026) -- Piedmont Walton Hospital and Piedmont Physicians of Monroe are pleased to announce that Shannon Christian, MD, has joined the practice and is now accepting new patients. Dr. Christian is a board-certified family medicine physician who provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages.

Dr. Christian grew up in Monroe and graduated from Monroe Area High School in 2015. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia before receiving her medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon. She then completed her residency training through the Emory Family Medicine Residency Program in Atlanta.

Dr. Christian is passionate about women's health, preventive medicine and patient-centered care. Her clinical interests also include adolescent health and helping patients improve their long-term health through preventive services and personalized treatment plans.
