Piedmont expands access to primary care in Monroe with new location

Monroe, Ga. (January 21, 2026) — Piedmont has expanded access to primary care in Monroe with the opening of its new Monroe location, Piedmont Primary Care at Monroe Pavilion. A ribbon cutting and community open house were held on January 14 to officially welcome patients and neighbors to the new clinic.

The clinic is located at 1042 Pavilion Parkway, Suite 500, in Monroe.

“Having another avenue for patients to work with a medical professional to monitor and manage their health and underlying health issues is a great win for the community,” said Blake Watts, CEO of Piedmont Walton. “This will be a great asset in developing personalized and preventative care for each patient that can lead to more positive health outcomes.”

The new practice will help address the growing need for timely access to primary care services in the region. Piedmont leaders say expanding the network of primary care providers will help the community stay ahead of long-term health needs by making preventative care and routine visits more convenient for patients.

Primary care providers (PCPs), including doctors and advanced practice practitioners, are essential in helping patients manage their overall health. PCPs conduct regular checkups, develop disease‑prevention plans, coordinate care, and diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries and other health conditions.

Advija Ibrisimovic, MD, is accepting new patients at the new location. She is board-certified in internal medicine. Her special interests include diabetes, hypertension, preventative care and women’s health.

Patients will have access to same-day appointments, online scheduling and video visits for convenient access to Piedmont’s care team.
