Piedmont Cartersville welcomes Grant Edward Taylor Jr., MD, general surgery specialist

Cartersville, Ga. (January 5, 2026) – Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center is pleased to announce the addition of Grant Edward Taylor Jr., MD, to Piedmont Physicians Surgical Specialists of Cartersville. Dr. Taylor brings extensive experience in general surgery, with expertise in procedures such as hernia repair, gallbladder surgery and colectomies.

Dr. Taylor has been practicing medicine since 1998. He is board-certified in general surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He earned his undergraduate degree from Allegheny College in Meadville, Penn., and his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Taylor completed his general surgery residency at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. After seven years of practice in his hometown, he relocated to Georgia in 2005.

Outside of his professional work, Dr. Taylor enjoys traveling with family and friends, hiking, cycling and walking his Bernese Mountain Dog.
