Cartersville, Ga. (July 14, 2026) – Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center is proud to serve as the presenting sponsor of the Soul & Wellness Fest, a free community event hosted by Black Bartow Events from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, August 1, at Friendship Plaza in downtown Cartersville.

Designed to promote physical health, mental well-being and healthy living, the event will bring together fitness instructors, health care professionals, mental health advocates, local businesses and community members for an engaging morning focused on overall wellness.

As part of its commitment to improving the health and well-being of the communities it serves, Piedmont Cartersville will offer free health screenings, including blood pressure and glucose checks, and provide educational resources that encourage preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices.

"At Piedmont, we recognize that good health goes beyond medical care alone," said Dr. Mark Senger, Chief Medical Officer at Piedmont Cartersville. "True wellness includes caring for both the body and the mind. We are honored to partner with Black Bartow Events to support an event that promotes healthy living, mental wellness and community connection while providing valuable health resources to the people of Bartow County."

The Soul & Wellness Fest schedule includes:

  • 9:30 a.m. – Hip-Hop Dance Class led by Candis Cureton
  • 10:45 a.m. – Mental Health Panel Discussion led by Erin Jones
  • Noon – Transformational Yoga led by Gelisa Longmire

Attendees can also enjoy a vendor marketplace featuring healthy food options, nutritious beverages and wellness-focused products from local businesses and organizations.

The event reflects Piedmont's mission to make a positive difference in every life touched by Piedmont by supporting initiatives that improve access to health education, preventive services and community-based wellness programs.

"Preventive care, health education and community engagement are essential to building healthier communities," Senger said. "By investing in events like Soul & Wellness Fest, we are helping individuals connect with resources that support long-term health while encouraging conversations around both physical and mental well-being."

Black Bartow Events created the festival to provide a welcoming environment where community members can learn, engage and take meaningful steps toward healthier lives. Through fitness activities, wellness discussions, free screenings and local partnerships, the event aims to empower attendees with tools and knowledge that support overall well-being.

Soul & Wellness Fest is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
