Augusta, Ga. (March 27, 2026) – Piedmont Augusta announced the successful installation and clinical launch of the Faraview Mapping System, a next‑generation cardiac mapping technology that enhances the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AFib). The system went live March 17, marking a significant advancement in the hospital’s commitment to providing high quality, innovative electrophysiology (EP) care close to home.

“This achievement reflects our team’s commitment to pursuing technologies that elevate patient care,” said David Clark, MD, an electrophysiologist at Piedmont Heart. “By diversifying our technology portfolio, we are driving innovation that benefits our patients and clinicians.”

During its first day of clinical use, the Faraview Mapping System, paired with the Boston Scientific Farapulse ablation catheter, delivered strong procedural performance and supported safe, efficient ablation therapy for AFib patients.

The FARAWAVE NAV Ablation Catheter builds upon the current FARAWAVE catheter by adding magnetic navigation capabilities, enabling cardiac mapping and pulsed field ablation (PFA) therapy delivery within a single integrated catheter, while minimizing the need for additional device exchanges. Mapped procedures with the FARAPULSE PFA System are visually depicted for physicians via the FARAVIEW Software, which offers a dynamic view of catheter placement, shape and rotation.

Piedmont Augusta performed 601 AFib ablations in 2025, and the addition of the Faraview system strengthens the program’s ability to meet growing demand while enhancing the patient experience.

The introduction of the Faraview Mapping System underscores Piedmont Augusta’s continued investment in advanced cardiovascular services and its dedication to delivering leading edge care to the Augusta community.

The Piedmont Augusta EP Program consistently evaluates and and implements new cardiac technologies to improve outcomes, increase efficiency and support Piedmont’s growing reputation as a regional leader in cardiovascular care.
