John B. Amos Cancer Center and Piedmont Oncology welcome two breast surgeons and a hematologist/medical oncologist

Columbus, Ga. (September 15, 2026) - The John B. Amos Cancer Center and Piedmont Oncology welcomes breast surgeons Linh O’Connor, M.D., and David Rock, M.D., as well as hematologist/medical oncologist Yetunde Ogunsesan, M.D. to the Columbus cancer care team. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and Piedmont Oncology is there for them every step of the way.

About Dr. O’Connor

  • Dr. O’Connor has a special interest in the diagnosis and surgical management of patients with benign or malignant breast disease. In addition to breast surgery, she also specializes in minimally invasive surgery with a focus on robotic-assisted procedures.
  • Dr. O’Connor earned her medical degree from Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago. She also completed a general surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center and is a board-certified surgeon.

About Dr. Rock

  • Dr. Rock has specialty training and certification in oncoplastic breast surgical procedures, allowing him to offer patients the most advanced techniques available, including hidden scar surgery, nipple-sparing mastectomy and oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery. These approaches allow Dr. Rock to remove tumors while simultaneously reshaping the breast, giving patients the best possible cosmetic outcome alongside excellent oncologic care.
  • He earned a medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. Dr. Rock also completed a general surgery residency at East Carolina University Health Medical Center and is a board-certified surgeon.

About Dr. Ogunsesan

  • Dr. Ogunsesan has special interest in the care of patients with breast cancer, multiple myeloma or genitourinary cancers. She earned a medical degree from the University of Ilorin College of Health Sciences, Nigeria. Dr. Ogunsesan also completed a hematology and medical oncology fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and is board eligible.
