Holly Chastain named Piedmont Mountainside's 2026 Promise 360 Champion

Jasper, Ga. (July 21, 2026) - At Piedmont Mountainside Hospital, exceptional care extends far beyond hospital walls. Few people embody that commitment more fully than Holly Chastain, a nurse in the Wound Care Center, who has been named Piedmont Mountainside’s 2026 Promise 360 Champion after earning the hospital’s monthly Promise 360 Champion recognition in both March and May 2026. Her selection now advances her to compete for Piedmont Healthcare’s prestigious Promise 360 President’s Award, which recognizes the health system’s highest-performing values-driven team members.

Holly earned her first monthly Promise 360 Champion recognition in March after demonstrating extraordinary advocacy for a patient experiencing a domestic violence situation. As the patient prepared for discharge, Chastain learned that returning home was not a safe option. She immediately went to work, connecting the patient with community resources, securing placement in a shelter and coordinating transportation to ensure the patient could safely reach it. Her actions exemplified Piedmont’s commitment to Champion Patient-Centered Care by addressing not only the patient's medical needs but also the circumstances affecting the patient’s safety and well-being.

Just two months later, Holly was recognized again after a community member contacted the hospital to share an incredible story that unfolded at Lake Allatoona. While visiting the lake, Chastain witnessed a two-year-old child who had been pulled from the water after being found face down and unresponsive. Without hesitation, she sprang into action, immediately beginning CPR and helping revive the child until emergency responders arrived. A witness later described her actions as “nothing short of a miracle” and felt compelled to notify the hospital so Chastain would receive the recognition she deserved. The child went on to make a full recovery.

Perhaps most telling of Holly’s character is that she never shared the story herself. When she received her May Promise 360 Champion recognition, she was stunned to learn that hospital leaders even knew about the incident. It was only because an eyewitness took the time to call the hospital and share what had happened that her heroic actions came to light.
