Columbus, Ga. (November 13, 2025) – The Medical Association of Georgia has named Dhruv Chaudhary, M.D., an Interventional Gastroenterologist at Piedmont Columbus Regional’s John B. Amos Cancer Center, the 2025 Jack A. Raines, M.D., Humanitarian Award recipient. Dr. Chaudhary was recently presented the award during a Medical Association of Georgia House of Delegates meeting in Savannah.

Dr. Chaudhary is recognized as one of the leading Advanced Endoscopists in the Chattahoochee Valley. He founded and built the region’s first and only advanced endoscopy program—performing advanced Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) procedures. Through his vision and leadership, patients now have access to life-saving endoscopic procedures that previously required travel to Atlanta, Birmingham or Macon. His efforts have dramatically improved accessibility, outcomes and overall standard of gastrointestinal (GI) care in West Georgia and East Alabama.

“Dr. Chaudhary is a great asset to our community and the John B. Amos Cancer Center,” said Executive Director of Oncology Services Sheree Tolbert, PharmD.

A native of Georgia, Dr. Chaudhary graduated with honors and magna cum laude from the University of Georgia. He went on to complete medical school at St. George's University and general and advanced gastroenterology training at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh before returning home in 2021 to join Piedmont Columbus Regional. His expertise and vision have transformed the hospital into a regional hub for advanced endoscopic care.
