Clay Community Care Clinic

Residents obtain extensive training in the outpatient setting through their Ambulatory Rotation and their Continuity Clinic.  During the residents' ambulatory rotation, they spend 2 weeks dedicated to the Clay Community Care Clinic (CCCC) providing high quality primary care to their own panel of patients.  Additionally, when on elective rotations, residents will see their panel of patients 1 half-day per week at the CCCC.

Throughout the resident’s 3-year training, they will be the primary care provider for the patients, seeing them from all primary care needs including annual visits, preventive health visits, sick visits, and anything in between.

Residents practice within an interdisciplinary health care team that includes physicians, a social worker, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, medical assistants, students, and support staff.

They also work in performance improvement teams to attain skills and develop the knowledge and technical skills necessary to provide their patients with comprehensive and compassionate care.

Our specialties include:

The Clay Community Care Clinic was dedicated to Dr. Jim Clay. Dr. Clay served as senior pathologist and medical director of the Piedmont Athens Regional laboratory for 35 years. He was kind, patient, humble and caring- a true Southern gentleman. Dr. Clay valued education and helping others. He realized he could support both by leaving his legacy with the Clay Community Care Clinic.

In addition to providing our patients with high-quality primary care, we also have specialty clinics.  This allows us to provide comprehensive medical care for every patient, regardless of age, race, gender, ability to pay, insurance status in-house.

Enhancements to the services and community outreach programs, donor involvement is more important now than ever. Through philanthropy, we continue to transform health care and provide access to the best clinicians and a one-of-a-kind experience that always puts patients first. Please consider making a donation to support the Community Care Clinic and your community.
