Athens regional spiritual care services
Overview
Located on the first floor near the Prince Tower Lobby elevators, the Sacred Space, given by Kathryn and Carl Nichols, is open 24 hours a day. We also offer a Community Garden along Talmadge Drive across from the Medical Services Building. The Piedmont Athens Regional Auxiliary Healing Garden is behind the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support on Talmadge Drive.
Ask to see a chaplain when you are:
- Suffering emotional or spiritual distress
- Anxious or discouraged by your prognosis or change in condition
- Struggling with grief or loss
- Facing difficult decisions or feeling you can’t cope
- Searching for meaning and purpose
- Unable to work through feelings such as anger, guilt, or hopelessness
- Seeking guidance or direction
- Desiring religious ritual or prayer
- In need of a comforting presence and compassionate listening

- Tarver Family Courtyard
Upon entering the PAR Main Tower on the first floor, the Tarver Family Courtyard is located behind the Eileen Sapera Information Desk.
- University Vascular Courtyard
Located across from the Pink Posy Gift Shop on the first floor of the PAR Main Tower
- Main Tower Wellness Porch
Located behind the Chick-fil-A on the first floor of the PAR Main Tower
- Auxiliary Healing Garden
Located behind the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support on Talmadge Drive
- Grief Support Group
Our Grief Support Group is for those who’ve lost loved ones. You will meet others on the grief journey and gain strength from the support and stories shared. The group meets on the first and third Thursday of each month from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Talmadge Tower Two, second floor, Conference Room A.
