Piedmont Athens Regional adult volunteers

Overview
Many adult members of the Athens community volunteer their time to Piedmont Athens Regional as part of our Auxiliary. Volunteers serve at our information desks, in our gift shops, in the Medical Services Building, and at Oconee Health Campus. We require that volunteers make at least a 3-month commitment, although most of our volunteers choose to volunteer for multiple years.
If you are interested in volunteering with us, the first step is to set up an in-person or virtual appointment with our Volunteer Services staff. During this initial meeting, you will be able to share how you would like to volunteer and staff will be able to explain our onboarding process.
All adult volunteers are required to complete a background check, health screening, and hospital orientation. We provide an annual training session for volunteers who choose to volunteer long-term. Immunity to Mumps, Measles, Rubella, and Varicella (Chicken Pox) is required of all volunteers. Up to date COVID-19 and Flu vaccines are strongly encouraged during respiratory virus season (November-March).
At this time, our greatest need is at our information desks.
We are not currently accepting volunteers as cuddlers in the NICU.
