Family Medicine Residency Program
Overview
Since 1972, the Family Medicine Residency Program at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown Campus has trained more than 600 family physicians. The 583-bed, level II trauma center provides a deep experience platform for residents.
What makes us different
Piedmont Columbus Regional is different from most residency programs!
- Unopposed: We're the only residency program on campus which allows you to get more focused attention.
- High volume: Lots of practice in honing your craft at our busy level II trauma center. We are the local referral facility for a 50-mile radius.
- Inpatient experience: Complete 2-3 more months of inpatient experience than most programs; many graduates serve as hospitalists.
- Retention: 90% of our faculty are former residents and 85% of the local community physicians are our graduates.
- Continuity: Many of our faculty have been here for 20+ years, which shows this is a great place to work.
- Educational support: Our $2,000 per year CME funding and paid-for exam prep items leads the pack.
- Good pay and time-off: Competitive pay, 26 days PTO a year and 5 days for CME is more than most other programs.
- Piedmont-owned facilities: No “outsourcing” needed. You’ll rotate through our core on-site departments.
- Wellness: $15,000 budgeted for wellness activities annually.
