Piedmont Oncology

The Piedmont Brain Tumor Center

The Piedmont Brain Tumor Center is nationally and internationally recognized for innovative, cutting-edge therapy of benign and malignant tumors originating in the brain, as well as metastatic cancer that originates outside of the brain. Piedmont has a longstanding reputation as a leader in the treatment of brain tumors, spinal cord tumors, and disorders and tumors of the skull base.

Our doctors have been leaders in the field of neuro-oncology, using the latest diagnostic and imaging technologies to provide expert treatment for brain and spinal cord tumors. For every patient, we have the ability to combine standard treatment options with leading, precision technology and world class clinical trials. Through targeted therapy, from Gamma Knife stereotactic radiosurgery to minimally invasive and fluorescence-guided surgery, we maximally target tumors while minimally affecting the surrounding normal brain tissue and maintaining function.

A collaborative team of Piedmont cancer specialists work to develop personalized treatment plans through comprehensive, multidisciplinary reviews at our weekly Neuro-oncology Tumor Board. This involves a review of all diagnostic information, tumor molecular profiling, advanced neuroimaging and neurocognitive testing to select the best treatment strategy. Our team reviews each case and actively engages our patients in numerous institutional, national and international clinical trials. Sometimes, watchful waiting is the recommended approach, and our medical team monitors you for any changes in the tumor.

Piedmont Brain Tumor Center leadership and staff are uniquely qualified to provide world class care in a personalized and supportive setting. Through our affiliation with the MD Anderson Cancer Network along with national organizations such as the American Brain Tumor Association, National Cancer Institute, Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation, Society of Neuro-oncology, Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the North American Skull Base Society, our team collaborates with other world cancer experts to select the best therapeutic options for you.
