Wall of Thanks

Share your gratitude. Inspire others.
At Piedmont, every heartfelt message from our patients and their families reminds us why we do what we do. Our Wall of Thanks is a space to celebrate the compassion, dedication, and healing that happens every day across our healthcare system.
Whether it’s a note of appreciation for a nurse who went the extra mile, a doctor who offered comfort in a difficult moment, or a team that made a difference in your journey, your words matter. They uplift our caregivers and inspire others who walk through our doors.
We invite you to leave a message of thanks and be part of a growing community of gratitude. Together, we honor the power of care, connection, and kindness.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Mashman’s for a few years now.
He has always had a warm and friendly presence. He allows you speak, listens carefully without distractions and strives to provide the care and feedback that best suits your issue. He sets the standard for the kind of care every physician should always provide.

I just want to say thank you to everyone.
From the second I walked in the door with my grandmother everyone was so caring and compassionate. Dr. Goli was well worth the wait. She was very detailed in explaining her plan of care. We finally found a doctor that listens and understand. We are so thankful.

Dr Brown saved my wife's life after another system canceled my wife's surgery.
We called Dr Brown, and he not only took on her surgery, but did it the following week. This was her 2nd open heart and was only given a 30% chance of survival. Thanks to Dr Brown she survived and doing well 5 years later. We won't go anywhere else.

Megan has helped me through two (2) shoulder surgeries, (rotator cuff, bicep tendon & clavicle) over the past year.
Together with Jessica Rosser, she has delivered to me, the best care in physical therapy rehabilitation. Her efforts far exceeded any previous experiences I had in P.T. rehabilitation. Megan and her team are the best!

Dr. Blackmon is absolutely the BEST DR. I HAVE EVER HAD!!
She is caring, thorough, up to date on medical practices, proactive, and truly cares about my well-being ~ she makes going to see the doctor a JOY! If you are fortunate enough to see her as your doctor, you will know what a GEM she is! I'm so thankful for her wonderful care over the years.

I'm under the ongoing care of Cardiologist Dr Tesfaye Telila.
I've had a cardiac CT scan and two follow-ups spanning a year's time. Each and every visit, I'm greeted respectfully, all concerns are shared with me in a way I understand, and no questions are left unanswered. I'm confident in saying Dr Telila and Piedmont Heart of Newnan, Ga are the cream of the crop in patient care.

Dr. Cheves treated me during a medical emergency.
She is highly competent and incredibly compassionate. She and the ER and OR teams took great care of me. I was blessed that she was the doctor on call. I would trust her again with my life. I am extremely grateful.

Piedmont, better every day
I had the privilege of externing in surgery at the "new" Piedmont in Atlanta in 1958 and have since, over the years been a patient and they have kept me going, now in my 90th year... Thanks to the nurses, doctors, and all staff... Piedmont just gets better and better...

Thank you for making my care special!
During my last stay at the hospital, I would like to thank the following people that made my care special: 1. China - my case worker that worked with my transfer to my new Assisted Living in Savannah. 2. Hedwig - my patient care technician: sweet lady and very patient. April, my caring nurse. And the PT ladies that got me moving again.

Angels at Piedmont Newton Knox Center
I was diagnosed with female cancer. I was devastated to say the least. I was placed in the hands of Gods most precious angels at the Piedmont Newton Knox Center Infusion Department. The angels Michelle, Heather, Megan, Jamie, Michelle, Stacey, Angel and some others (hate saying names as I know some would be left out that were so deserving please forgive me) took great care of me from start to finish. They calmed me down as I was in unfamiliar territory. Told me everything they were doing each step of the way. I know God placed me in their precious hands. I have lived here over 70 years and am so proud of our hospital and its medical staff and leaders. They are all top rate, and the level of care is off the chart. Thank you to all my angels from a grateful heart that is at a loss for words. May God continue to bless and keep you is my prayer.

Guardian Angel
Do you believe in guardian angels? Well, I do! How do you thank someone who literally saved your life? Dr. Gibson operated on me early Thanksgiving morning 2023, for varicose veins. I was sent to another hospital who said they couldn’t help. They wanted me to check myself out and find another hospital. I refused. They sent me by ambulance to Piedmont Newton where I met my angel. He did surgery and banded 6 varicose that were stepping. The pain was so bad after surgery, but Dr. Gibson stayed right by my side and told me, “I got you.” While he held my hand. He didn’t leave me until my meds kicked in and the pain receded. I will always be grateful to him. I owe Dr. Gibson my life. The only way I can think of to show how much this doctor means to me is told everyone I talk to about him and tell them my story. My primary doctor says she will only refer patients to Dr. Gibson now. This man is kind, caring, patient, and makes sure you understand what’s going on. Since I first met him, I have received a liver and I’m doing well. No more NASH! I will always be thankful and do my best to make him proud that he saved me. He is my guardian angel!!!

Surgery with stents implanted for my husband.
As my husband recently had two stents implanted at the Bernie Marcus Heart and Valve Center next to Piedmont Hospital on Peachtree St., I cannot thank the staff enough and all who helped to make the surgery go well. He has made a fantastic recovery and for that I am so thankful. The surgeon was Dr. James P. Stewart. He was so kind to spend 20 minutes explaining the results after the surgery and assuring my daughter and me that my husband was doing well and could go on home that same afternoon. I highly recommend this facility! We are fortunate to have the Bernie Marcus Heart and Valve Center in Atlanta and thankful to Mr. Marcus for his unselfish monetary contributions to make it possible. And we are thankful for the dedicated staff who are so professional and so kind and caring.

Piedmont Eastside ER Nurse
ER Nurse Brandie day shift made me and my family understand what was happening to me and what the treatment given to me would help. She understood and answered all our questions to the best of her medical knowledge.

Thank you for all you did, and to my pulmonary nurse
From the emergency room to a 8 day stay in ICU . My family thought we were done and so did I. The flu almost took me out but the great care I received at Piedmont had great results and my nurses and Dr’s were incredible. From my Italian valentine in icu to journey on the 6 th floor. Thank you for all you did, and to my pulmonary nurse who shared about her mother with me. Thank you! You are where you should be. Saving people.

My heart surgery.
I cannot begin to say how grateful I am for my Doctors. Shailesh Malla cared for me for several years. Then came the time for open heart surgery. Then Dr. William Morris Brown my heart surgeon, was just an amazing caring physician. I was so blessed to know him. I can't thank him enough. Absolutely love my care team. Thank you for the gift of life.

To the Congestive Heart Failure Team
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the staff in the ER and the Congestive Heart Failure floor. My mom was transported there for a uti and a fall. She was admitted and they were absolutely amazing. Due to reasons beyond their control her heart was too weak to continue and she passed. The love, care and compassion of the staff on duty the night my mom passed away was beyond amazing. I can’t thank them enough for taking such good care of her and the level of compassion they had for us as a family when we arrived the night she passed.

That’s the Piedmont Difference!
I have been coming to Piedmont since 1985 - my primary Teresa Clark had privileges there. She discovered my Afib in a physical. I inherited some heart issues from my dad. All my doctors are Piedmont Atlanta. I have had a cardioversion, 6 hour ablation in 2016 and stents and 9-19-24 will mark my 1 year TAVR procedure with Dr. Stewart. I am in a trial with the sapien x4 aortic valve. Also I have to recognize my 2 cardiologists and their wonderful staff for caring and taking care of my heart health. Dr. Hassan Sayegh ( my plumbing Dr. ) and Dr. Andy Wickliffe ( my electrical Dr. ) I would not go anywhere else for my care. That’s the Piedmont Difference!

Dr. Cioffi Saved My Life
While on a Rhine River cruise last May I suffered necrotizing pancreatitis. I spent 21 days in ICU in a German hospital before I was medevac'd back to the States. I wound up at Piedmont Columbus Midtown Hospital. [Soon after] they told me that they located Dr. Jessica Cioffi, a HPB surgeon at Piedmont Atlanta... I was transferred to Piedmont Atlanta and soon after my arrival Dr. Jessica Cioffi came to my room. She examined me, reviewed my tests and images, and explained to me in detail what needed to be done with the prognosis for my recovery. A couple of days later she performed the surgery on me, removing my gall bladder, 80% of my pancreas, and several very large pseudocysts. During my recovery she checked on me several times a day, and when she couldn't come one of her PAs came. Her bedside manner is exemplary; she is kind, considerate, answered all of our questions without being rushed, and allayed all of our fears. She is compassionate and confident. I felt a comfort and peace knowing that she was taking care of me. Dr. Cioffi saved my life when other doctors had given up on me. According to the Cleveland Clinic 70% of people who experience necrotizing pancreatitis die. Thanks to Dr. Cioffi I am one of the lucky 30% who survived. And thanks to Dr. Cioffi, I got to celebrate my 70th birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas with my family and friends. What a gift! She needs to be on your Wall of Thanks (and featured in your commercial about Quality of Care I've seen on TV). Thank you, Dr. Cioffi! You're the best!

Thanks to the Nursing Staff
I want to compliment the nursing staff at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center. They have always been caring and competent for the 22 years that I have been going there for care. They are an asset to the community and to the hospital!

Megan Chambers - AMAZING Nurse!
Megan Chambers at Piedmont Athens Regional is the most amazing nurse! She cared for my sister, Anna, in 2020. She was such a wonderful nurse to my sister and so kind to our family as we prepared to say goodbye. She connected with us and with my sister, even though Anna was unresponsive. Megan was pregnant and stayed after her 12 hour shift was over to be there with my sister as she became an organ donor. Megan showed Anna and our family tremendous kindness and care during the time we were there. I’m thankful I now call Megan a friend.

Thank you, L&D for an Empowering Experience,
Thank you to the entire Piedmont Atlanta Hospital team. It is clear that you all are focused on making sure patients feel cared for, and that came across beautifully when I delivered my baby with you this spring. Our nurse Regina, as well as the full L&D team, created such a calm, empowering, environment. Risks and choices were discussed calmly in a way that ensured my baby's safety, my safety, and my autonomy were all at the forefront. All the staff during our stay (Dr. Samaddar, Jamaine, Chandni, and so many more) were so caring, kind, and most importantly stellar at what they do! Thank you, Piedmont Atlanta!

Best Hospital staff ever!
I am a current patient at Piedmont Atlanta. I just wanted to take a moment to compliment the staff taking care of me. From arriving for surgery on Tuesday the service and friendliness of my care takers have been phenomenal. Dr. Aziz and his staff (Niki and Lance) have been able to tend to my every need. My round the clock nursing staff have ensured my pain remains under control while feeling like family. The nursing staff have been amazing. From Keonda standing at my bedside all night to remind me to breathe, to Kayla who hunted me down a heart pillow to hold just to bring me a bit more comfort when I had to cough (or breathe). I'm sure I am missing some people but I just wanted to express my gratitude to Keonda, Amy, Ashley, Delta, Kayla, Huda and everyone else that have had the pleasure of meeting during my stay at Piedmont Atlanta.

Kind and caring - Piedmont Hospital nurses and staff North tower fifth floor
The nurses staff custodians administrators and security provided our son excellent 24/7 care during his recent stay of almost a week for diverticulitis. Everyone on the floor was constantly kind and helpful which made his painful situation a little easier to bear. One nurse even at his request provided comforting comments and care late at night when he was feeling sad and that meant a lot. They were all patient and kind during this very trying and time and we are grateful for all of you. Matthew and Anne

Heartfelt Appreciation for Nurse Brandon's Exceptional Care
I would like to recognize Nurse Brandon in the Emergency Department for the exceptional care and compassion he showed while caring for my 91-year-old mother, who has Alzheimer's disease. From the moment he interacted with her, Brandon treated her with remarkable patience, kindness, and respect. He understood the unique challenges that come with caring for someone with Alzheimer's and made every effort to keep her calm, comfortable, and treated with dignity. His gentle approach not only helped my mother but also brought reassurance to our entire family during a stressful time. Healthcare professionals like Brandon make an enormous difference in the lives of patients and their loved ones. His professionalism, empathy, and genuine compassion exemplify the very best of nursing. We are deeply grateful for the outstanding care he provided and hope he receives the recognition he so richly deserves. Please extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Nurse Brandon for making such a positive impact during our visit.

One In A Million
There are not enough words to describe Dr. David O'Neill He is Definitely One In A Million! I was in a car accident Christmas Eve 2024 and broke both my ankles, my first night in the hospital another doctor visits me in my hospital room and told me that my right ankle my need to be amputated. I couldn't believe he said that, especially in front of my nephew who has Autism, I rebuked that and the doctor! Thank God, he sent me Dr. David O'Neill. It's been a long road, a slow road back to walking but I have my right ankle, it is fused but thank you it's still attached. I will be forever grateful for Dr. David, his kindness, patience, straight out love for his patients, I consider him more than my doctor, he's my Best Friend. Like I said he's One In A Million.

Excellent Care
I have had several experiences with my elderly parents and their care at Piedmont Hospital Athens. I would say that my mothers's nurse, Marissa on the orthopedic floor was the best! My mom was a very agitated patient due to many other conditions besides hurting with her rotator cuff surgery, but Marissa was soft spoken, got down and looked Mom in the eyes, explained to her why she was going to hurt, and could calm her down to do what she needed to do. I hope that she continues to be a nurse because this was definitely her calling. Thankful for a caring nurse who took the time to give mom excellent care and respect.

Many, Many Thanks
Dr. Travis Littleton is AMAZING. I had a car accident in Nov 2024 that resulted in a broken finger. From the start, he provided the best support - especially to someone who's never had a broken bone in their life. He kept me calm through each appointment and X-ray and saw me through each time until my finger was fully healed. He even let me know that I could always come back should I have issues or questions. His professionalism, bedside manners and overall demeanor helped a stressful part of my life much easier.

Mama's Care After Surgery
Davis and Marissa treated my mother with dignity and genuine kindness. They worked seamlessly as a team, were patient, and always took the time to engage with her beyond basic clinical needs. Unlike many who simply complete their tasks and leave, they consistently took a moment for meaningful conversation, which made my mother feel much more at ease. Their thoughtful approach to care clearly contributes to her comfort and recovery, and it is evident that they are dedicated to their work and have truly found their calling in healthcare. I expressed my appreciation to them personally, but I wanted to ensure they received broader recognition for the outstanding care they provide. Thank you, Davis and Marissa, your compassion and professionalism are deeply appreciated. Keep up the excellent work!
