Conyers, Ga. (November 5, 2024) – Piedmont Rockdale Hospital Chief Executive Officer Monica Hum, M.D., was awarded the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals’ Outstanding Woman in Healthcare Award. She received the award for her work as a physician and executive but also for her attention to detail and for bringing improvements in high-quality care to the Conyers-Rockdale community.
As a member of the hospital’s executive team, Dr. Hum has worked hard to integrate Piedmont’s physicians into the Rockdale community, which has helped raise the level of quality and service.
Strategically, Dr. Hum worked to expand services to the community by bringing specialized providers, such as: neurology, vascular surgery, and colorectal surgery.
Under her watch, Piedmont Rockdale expanded women’s heart screenings, lung screenings, became a designated Primary Stroke Center, and expanded its oncology and infusion services.
Even though Dr. Hum no longer practices surgery, integrating care to close to home, continues to be her focus. As the community grows, Dr. Hum wants to make sure the community’s needs can be met at the hospital.
