Cartersville, Ga. (December 12, 2023) — Piedmont Cartersville celebrated the addition of a new patient floor, housing 20 new patient rooms, on Dec. 11. The new unit, 5 North, will officially open on Dec. 12 with patient admissions.
A grand opening and ribbon-cutting celebration marked the occasion with officials from the Cartersville-Bartow Chamber, Cartersville Mayor Matt Santini, Piedmont Cartersville Board of Trustees members, area business and industry leaders, Piedmont executives, physicians, employees and representatives from the project including Meadows & Ohly, McCarthy Building Companies and TMPartners.
Part of an overall 31,798 square-foot facility expansion project that included the addition of a fourth floor for support space and doubled the size of the central sterile processing department, the addition of 5 North includes a total of 14,970 square feet and brings the total number of licensed beds for Piedmont Cartersville to 139.
Piedmont Cartersville CEO Lori Rakes welcomed guests and offered tours of 5 North, noting the expansion project included the addition of two floors, one housing 20 new CON-approved patient beds (5 North) and one for support space (4 North).
