Jasper, Ga. (November 7, 2023) – Piedmont Mountainside Hospital was awarded an “A” Hospital Safety Grade for the 17th consecutive time by The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit upholding the standard of patient safety in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.
“We have now earned 17 consecutive ‘A’ safety grades since 2015 and continue to lead the state with the most consecutive ‘A’ grades of any hospital in Georgia,” said Denise Ray, President and CEO, Piedmont Mountainside. “Our physicians and staff are laser-focused on patient safety and quality outcomes so it’s rewarding to continue to receive this recognition from The Leapfrog Group.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program exclusively based on hospital prevention of medical errors, infections and injuries. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually in the fall and spring.
