Conyers, Ga. (June 23, 2020) – Piedmont Rockdale Hospital is extremely grateful for the support we have received from individuals and businesses in our community that has enabled us to keep our healthcare workers and patients safe. As the country continues to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, Piedmont Rockdale is requesting that the community continues to assist us in saving lives. Mask Donations for Patients - Piedmont Rockdale is accepting mask donations to provide to patients who enter our emergency department or visit the hospital for other services. It is the hospital’s policy that all patients and visitors who enter must wear masks. Early in the pandemic, community members donated hundreds of hand-sewn, cloth masks, as well as surgical/procedural masks ordered online. By donating masks, you can help make sure both patients and staff are protected. If you have masks or supplies to donate, please email pitchingin@piedmont.org for donation instructions.
Giving Blood - The American Red Cross has informed Piedmont Rockdale that blood supply levels are critically low. Every two seconds someone in the United States needs a blood transfusion for medical care such as surgeries, traumatic injuries, cancer treatments, or chronic illnesses. Piedmont Rockdale, in partnership with the Red Cross, will host a blood drive on Tuesday, July 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the hospital’s Building A classrooms. The American Red Cross has increased their vigilance of safety protocols and is dedicated to mitigating contact between those donating. Donors are asked to schedule an appointment to donate.
