Monroe, Ga. (September 19, 2025) – Anne Connors, a Labor & Delivery nurse at Piedmont Walton Hospital, recently represented Piedmont Walton on a panel during the Georgia Council for Recovery Bus Tour stop at Athens Technical College. The panel was part of the “Addiction Epidemic in Georgia: A Conversation” policy event, which drew 62 attendees and featured Monroe Mayor John Howard presenting the Recovery Month Proclamation.
Anne was invited to participate by Walton Empowers, a local Addiction Recovery Support Center and new partner of Piedmont Walton through the Community Connections program. This initiative allows hospital staff to connect patients with peer support and local resources to help them begin their recovery journey after discharge.
In addition to her professional role, Anne volunteers with Walton Empowers and brings personal insight to her advocacy, inspired by her brother’s recovery journey. She is especially passionate about supporting new mothers in overcoming addiction and finding hope through recovery.
