Monroe, Ga. (Sept. 10, 2025) – September is a crucial time to donate blood, as it aligns with National Preparedness Month, helping ensure hospitals are ready for emergencies. It also follows summer shortages and coincides with the return of school and sports, when injuries may increase. Additionally, September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and many cancer patients rely on blood transfusions during treatment. Your donation can help save lives.
To help meet the demand, Piedmont Walton Hospital is hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Red Cross team members and volunteers will be set up in the Piedmont Walton Medical Office Building, located at 2151 West Spring Street, in Suite 100. Donors are encouraged to schedule their appointment at redcrossblood.org and use sponsor code: PWALTON.
Donors will receive a $10 Amazon e-Gift card.
Before donating, remember to eat iron rich foods, drink plenty of water and sleep well the night before. A photo ID is required to donate. For more information, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS.
