Athens, Ga. (May 21, 2025) – Piedmont Athens Regional is hosting ‘Save a Life Day’, a free community event offering hands-on training in emergency response techniques. The event will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 9 a.m. to noon at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Services Building A, third Floor, 242 King Avenue, Athens, Ga. 30606, as part of the hospital’s Trauma Awareness Month activities.
“We want to empower our community with the knowledge and confidence to act in emergency situations,” said Eva Carignan, Trauma Injury Prevention and Outreach Coordinator at Piedmont Athens Regional. “Whether it’s stopping a severe bleeding injury or performing CPR, anyone can learn the skills that save lives.”
This event is open to the public, and walk-ins are welcome.
‘Save a Life Day’ will feature multiple free training stations, including:
- Stop the Bleed Training – Learn how to provide immediate medical aid in emergency bleeding situations.
- Hands-Only CPR – Discover how this simple, effective technique can save lives during cardiac arrest at home, work, or in public.
- Safe Kids of Athens – Engage with safety experts to learn techniques for protecting children ages 0–19 in areas such as vehicle and road safety, fire safety, water safety, wheeled sports and helmet safety, home and sports safety.
May is National Trauma Awareness Month, and the trauma team at Piedmont Athens Regional has partnered with community organizations throughout the month to provide life-saving training and education about the trauma services available at Piedmont Athens.
