Columbus, Ga. (August 7, 2025) – Piedmont Columbus Regional is now offering maternity tours at its Midtown Campus for expectant families at no cost.
“Tours will start in the main lobby and consist of visiting the High-Risk Antepartum Unit, 24/7 Obstetrics Emergency Department, Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby units,” Director of Women and Children’s Services Jonetta Chestnut explains. “Guides will share information on what families can expect during their stay, the visitation policy and a brief question and answer session.”
Tours will be held every Thursday from 10 to 11:45 a.m. and on the first Sunday of the month from 2 to 3:45 p.m. Attendees should arrive at the main lobby 15 minutes before their tour starts. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Families can sign-up for a tour on piedmont.org. One expectant parent must pre-register online. Attendees may bring one other person on the tour, but they don’t need to pre-register. No children are allowed to attend.
“Our maternity tours went away as a result of COVID. We are very happy to be offering them once again to showcase the high-quality care our experienced staff provides, and give families peace of mind,” said Chief Nursing Officer Cary Burcham. “If you’re unsure which hospital to deliver at or have questions about the admission process or where to arrive for birth, I encourage you to sign-up for a tour of our facility.”
Piedmont Columbus Regional’s other women and children’s services at the Midtown Campus include a state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit, obstetrics and gynecology hospitalists, midwifery, a maternal-fetal medicine clinic and pediatric services at the Bill and Olivia Amos Children's Hospital.
