Piedmont Columbus Regional Observes Children’s Hospitals Week

Columbus, Ga. (April 8, 2024) – To shine a light on the importance of children’s hospitals and how donations help kids get the best care when they need it, the Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital at Piedmont Columbus Regional participated in the eighth annual Children’s Hospitals Week, April 8-12.

The future Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital is one of 170-member Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals across North America that participated in the week-long initiative. Columbus news media were given an inside look at the future freestanding facility as construction continues. Click here to watch

CMN Hospitals treat 62 kids every minute, like 4-year-old Joseph Luttrell, the 2024 CMN Champion for the future Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital.

Joseph was born at 35 weeks and spent 29 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and later diagnosed with Down Syndrome. Shortly after being discharged, he was admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) where he stayed for weeks. Later, Joseph returned for respiratory distress. Over the years, he has had multiple surgeries, including open-heart surgery. Because of your support of CMN Hospitals, Joseph is a thriving and happy child who loves his family, the TV show Bluey and singing.

The following activities encourage support for children’s hospitals:

  • Wear a bandage. Show your support by wearing a bandage of your choice, taking a photo, and sharing it on social media with the #ChildrensHospitalsWeek hashtag.
  • Donate or help raise critical funds for the future Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital. Visit cmnhospitals.org to learn how to get started.

“Hall Booth Smith has been a proud supporter of the CMN hospital for over 18 years,” said HBS Columbus Managing Partner Paul Ivey. “We know what an important impact our local CMN hospital makes in our community.”

Visit cmnhospitals.org to make a donation to the future Bill and Olivia Amos Children's Hospital at Piedmont Columbus Regional. All donations stay local.
